A woman proudly shared a photo of herself with the 18,000-piece puzzle she has finally completed — but some eagle-eyed Reddit users could only focus on the single piece missing from the design.
The woman, who has the username Suckitupbuttercuplol on Reddit, took to the platform on Monday to post the image, which sees her with her arms outstretched in front of the mammoth puzzle.
She revealed that the puzzle, which features an island at sunset, complete with trees, flowers, birds, and butterflies, took her a year to put together.
‘A year and 18,000 pieces later…’ she wrote next to the image.
One Reddit user deemed the photo ‘amazing!!!’ and asked Suckitupbuttercuplol a few questions about the puzzle and how she completed it.
‘Did you start assembling it on the wall? Surely that would be an insane amount of floor space to use up,’ the user wanted to know.
The puzzle fan explained she completed her project ‘on the floor in quarters’, and that she didn’t put it completely together until it was mounted on the wall.
Some users quickly noticed that despite the woman’s efforts, one piece is missing from the puzzle.
One person shared a zoom on the blank space, located above the woman’s right arm.

Suckitupbuttercuplol explained that the piece is the only one missing and that it disappeared after her son ate it.
‘I wonder how many missing pieces she’s hiding behind her,’ someone joked, implying that there could be more blank spaces masked by the woman’s body on the photo.
However, she shut down that theory, writing: ‘None it’s just the one our son ate.’
Some users tried to help reunite the woman with her missing puzzle piece.
‘There’s probably someone here on Reddit dedicated enough to buy the puzzle and find the missing piece to send to her. That person is not me, but there probably is someone…’ one person wrote.
Someone else offered a more practical solution, suggesting that Ravensburger, the puzzle’s manufacturer, might be able to provide a replacement piece.
‘Ravensburger will often replace missing pieces if you get in contact and let them know which piece is missing!’ that person wrote.
The German company does state on its website that it can provide replacements for pieces that are missing. It asks customers to reach out by sending a form with their personal information, the number of their item, and a description of their situation.
